Plant Care Instructions:
Watering Schedule, Light Levels & Temperature
Phalaenopsis Orchids require at least 2-4 hours of bright indirect natural light. Placement near a bright windowsill and away from extreme temperatures. Keep daytime temperatures between 70 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and nighttime temperatures between 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit to keep plants thriving. Water roots of plants (1/2 cup per plant) once every 12-14 days during warmer seasons and 14-20 days during colder seasons. Prior to watering, make sure the roots are nearly dry to avoid overwatering.
Optimal Care & Growth
Occasional misting of the orchid plant further enhances the care quality (or keeping humidity levels between 40-70 percent) and will ensure longer bloom time and sturdy foliage health. The orchid blooms will last for a few months and will eventually wither. Don't worry, this is normal. Once the blooms drop, trim the orchid stem down to half but leave the foliage as this is needed for the plant to continue photosynthesis. Continue watering schedule but reduce watering by 1/3 as the seasons gets colder. If properly cared for, your plant will rebloom when triggered by cooler temperatures (3-4 months). We are happy to repot new orchids in your keepsake vessel if you wish to bypass the wait for potential new blooms. Email to inquire about repotting and plant care and subscription services.
